Yavanna is made up of two 300 year old granite farmhouses, Casa Gabriel and Casa Dolinda, set in the tranquil hamlet of Insua, in the Minho region of North West Portugal.  Taking its name from the river which runs through it, marking the border with Spain, the Minho is not only stunningly beautiful, but steeped in tradition.  For those interested in history, it is rich in centuries old castles, churches and monasteries.

Renowned for its excellent wines, the Minho is also known as `Costa Verde’, or the `Green Coast’.  It is a land of warm, open-hearted people, where visitors can enjoy the pleasures of markets, festivals, country fairs and also pilgrimages.

Very much part of a traditional rural community, Yavanna combines the old charm of northern Portugal with the comforts of home.  It makes a perfect base from which to enjoy a range of leisure pursuits, pastimes and creative activities.

The property covers about 6000 sq meters (1.5 acres) - see plan. Our two charming houses providing accommodation for groups up to a maximum of 6 in each are available for weekly holiday rental. Smaller groups can also be catered for.  We also have a further two extra double en-suite bedrooms, which can be booked by larger groups. Most groups rent Yavanna in its entirety, which sleeps up to 12. (This can be increased if necessary, as there are two extra rooms to rent if required.)

You can fly to Porto in only 2 hours from Heathrow, Gatwick, Bristol, Birmingham, Stansted or Liverpool, as well as from other European airports. You can reach Yavanna in just an hour.
