Accommodation - Casa Gabriel
The Yavanna
property is made up
of three granite houses, converted from 300 year old farm buildings.
From these ruins a local architect,
Matthew Salt, has created this delightful holiday retreat in a
traditional Portuguese style, with modern comforts.
The
Accommodation
Sleeping up to 12, there are 6 bedrooms
split across two separate houses. Casa Gabriel sleeps up to 6 in 3 en-suite
bedrooms. Some of these
rooms have twin beds and others doubles. There is a living room and a newly refurbished kitchen.
The house has its own patio and separate garden area. The house itself
is about 180 square meters.
Booking Options
Most people rent
Yavanna in its entirety. We are also happy to take
bookings for just one of the two houses. Quite often, you will have the
whole property to yourselves, and we can discuss guaranteeing this
exclusivity if you wish.
We do everything we can to make your holiday very special. We are
available for help and advice, but at the same time very sensitive to
your need for privacy.
Towels and linen are provided, beds are changed weekly, and we take
great pride in our standard of cleanliness, with a professional company
cleaning weekly.
Garden
There is a peaceful garden with secret corners, an
ancient working well and quiet
areas. Grapevines, lemon, olive and orange trees provide the perfect shade on a hot
day. Yavanna overlooks rural farmland, small hamlets with the
Minho hills in the background.
The property
covers about 6000 sq meters (1.5 acres) - see
plan.
Smoking
We have a "no smoking" policy in all rooms throughout
Yavanna. |
Swimming Pool
There is a 12x6 metre (salt) pool available. There is
a walkway to the pool past the studio from the guest house.
Surrounding the pool is a shady pergola and shower, as well as a yoga
and exercise area.
Facilities
Great care has been taking to ensure bedrooms and bathrooms are of a
good quality, with comfortable mattresses, etc.
There is a fully equipped kitchen, separate laundry, comfortable living
room with satellite, DVD and flat screen TV. All rooms open to the
outdoors.
Massages, mountain biking, waterskiing, horse riding, canoeing, cycling, etc. can
all be arranged at extra cost.
