Accommodation - Casa Dolinda

The Yavanna property is made up of three granite houses, converted from 300 year old farm buildings. From these ruins a local architect, Matthew Salt, has created this delightful holiday retreat in a traditional Portuguese style, with modern comforts.

The Accommodation
Casa Dolinda sleeps up to 5 in 3 bedrooms (accessed by a spiral staircase). The bedrooms are as follows:

1. Small room with comfortable small double bed measuring 140*200cm. This room is suitable for one adult or two small children who are happy to share.

2. Medium room with double bed measuring 150*200cm.

3. Large room with twin beds each measuring 90*200cm.

Casa Dolinda has a bathroom, separate toilet and separate shower room with toilet, as well as its own kitchen, living room, sun terrace and garden. The house itself is about 180 square meters.

Housekeeping

We do everything we can to make your holiday very special. We are available for help and advice, but at the same time very sensitive to your need for privacy.

Towels and linen are provided, beds are changed weekly, and we take great pride in our standard of cleanliness, with our friendly staff weekly.

There is a laundry next to Casa Gabriel's terrace which is shared by everyone at Yavanna.

Garden
There is a peaceful garden with secret corners, an ancient working well and quiet areas. Grapevines, lemon, olive and orange trees provide the perfect shade on a hot day.  Yavanna overlooks rural farmland, small hamlets with the Minho hills in the background. The property covers about 6000 sq meters (1.5 acres) - see plan. Casa Dolinda catches the evening sun and there is a small Moroccan table and chairs available for enjoying evening aperitifs.

Smoking
We have a "no smoking" policy in all rooms throughout Yavanna.

Swimming Pool
There is a 12x6 metre (salt) pool available. There is a walkway to the pool past the studio from the guest house. Surrounding the pool is a shady pergola and shower, as well as a yoga and exercise area.

Facilities
Great care has been taking to ensure bedrooms and bathrooms are of a good quality, with comfortable mattresses, etc.  There is a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room with satellite channels, DVD and 32" flat screen TV.

Massages, mountain biking, waterskiing, horse riding, canoeing, cycling, etc. can all be arranged at extra cost.
