Beaches Near Yavanna

Surf Beaches

Within a half an hour drive of Yavanna there are stunning sandy Atlantic surfing beaches. Portugal offers the best warm surfing in Europe with over 500 miles of consistent waves and no shortage of sunshine. Huge sandy beaches offer surf school and lifeguard patrolled areas.  There is also a world renowned windsurfing spot at nearby Mindelo.

Safe Sheltered Beaches

At the mouth of the Minho River, there are very safe clean sheltered family beaches. These are either at Caminha in Portugal or at Camposancos in Spain, which is accessible either by bridge or ferry. All beaches can be reached in about half an hour.

Cafes and restaurants are available at most beaches - they are uncommercialised, small scale and friendly.

River Beaches

Only 10 minutes from Yavanna is a sandy beach on the Minho River itself. This is lifeguard patrolled and has a beautiful terraced cafe. There is also wonderful canoeing and fishing possible on the Minho river.
