Activities in the Minho Region
Nearly everyone who visits Yavanna
leaves realising they haven't squeezed in a fraction
of what they wanted to. Most of the activities available, are "natural"
rather than "commercial". There is not much English spoken, so we can
help book any of the following. That's if you don't spend too much time
relaxing by Yavanna's wonderful salt pool or just swimming at one of the
beaches!
Road Cycling
The cycling in the area is superb - few cars, good quality roads and
amazing scenery. We have several road bikes for hire at 50 Euros per
week, and guided riding can be arranged. See
Mark's cycling courses for more info.
Mountain Biking
Guided rides can be organised following
cobbled tracks and mountain paths and tracks. We also have mountain
bikes for hire at Yavanna at the same rate for all the family.
Surfing
There is a good surf
school at nearby Moledo beach. Try it!
Kayaking (Flat or White Water)
This is very popular with visiting families. Choose
anything from a few hours to a full day trip. Choose between smooth
cruising or wild water. We organise these trips through an established
Spanish company in Tui, 15 minutes away, on the Minho river. Great fun
with the kids!
Hiking
the Minho has amazing mountainous walking
country, and the Pilgrim's route to Santiago de Compostela runs right
through our village, Fontoura. Very special.
Water
Skiing
Our friend, Chris, is a UK-qualified ski
instructor and will take out anyone from 8 years upwards. Fasten your
seat belts!
Massage
Not really an
activity, but we have our resident masseur Anita, who comes to Yavanna
to give full body massage. Pamper yourself! |
